Happy summertime.

The good news. I’ve finally received my saddle. AND my bitless bridle that the saddle fitter fixed for me.

The bad news. Murphy’s is out of commission. I came out on Thursday night to feed and it was big. Cue the freak out. Immediately looked for bite marks (I’m thinking poisonous snake) or cuts. I couldn’t see anything that would have caused it. So I cold hosed, bute, and a dose of antibiotics because swollen legs freak me out .

I texted my vet and she also confirmed to do the same thing and to keep her updated.

The next day, it was worse. It hadn’t reached his chest so I just continued treatment. On day 3 it started coming down thank goodness. My vet dropped me off more antibiotics and some dex.

Thank goodness he’s much much better but I’m bummed I’ll miss my cross country schooling I had scheduled with my 2 good horse buddies! The only upside is we will reschedule as we get closer to cooler weather.

Anyway. New saddle=happy + my wallet hurts. I didn’t even take a picture of it yet because I haven’t gotten to put it on Murphy yet.

I am so looking forward to getting a ride in.
