Merry Christmas and a happy new year

The end of 2024 is warm, like wear a hoodie and feel great fine. I got to go on a trail ride yesterday and my horse was indeed feral. I am dreaming of an arena this upcoming year, another shelter and barn doors. One of the worst problems of owning a farm is how expensive projects are.
The temperature drops down to the 20’s at nights next week so I took advantage of the warm weather and scrubbed + refilled their water trough. The horses got to enjoy their blankets off for a few days and get some nice rolls in and naps in the sunshine.

My farrier came out this weekend to reset shoes and trim my mare. I got the best compliment I am still beaming about. He told me Murphy (full thoroughbred) has fantastic hoof growth coming in and by Spring people won’t believe he’s a thoroughbred because his feet are so good. He also complimented me on his body condition and how shiny he is. I get such joy out of taking the best care I can of my horses so it means a lot when I get compliments especially from a professional!

I finally got all the wire fencing taken off of the fence posts from the past owners fencing job. This past week we got all the posts pulled up. I’ll need to take a load of random trash to the dump plus put some stuff on marketplace fo free to get it out of my way. I can’t wait to look out the kitchen window with all of this gone! This is my first winter project I've started on and I have a couple more I want to get finished.

Christmas with the family was wonderful. The cousins had great fun together and it was so wonderful to get some downtime, sit at home and just enjoy my mortgage hehe. I do plan to get at least another ride in before the 20 degrees hits and we go on hibernation mode.
I also took advantage at being at home and decluttered SO MUCH STUFF. As part of my budgeting I have been watching/listening to a lot of youtube videos on budgeting /frugalism /minimalism which all seem to go hand in hand. It's amazing how freeing it is to have clean and easy to access spaces. Random spaces like my drawers in the laundry room, medicine/supplement cabinet and electronic drawers. I've already hit my closet pretty hard as well.
My goal is to get a closet of clothes in which every piece looks and fits great on me and only bring home something if I LOVE it. I feel so much better getting my house under control. My next stop is to hit my horse trailer in the spring!
Cheers everyone.
