Realistic versions. Not some stupid take a bath or “ask for help”.
Pop in a head phone and put youtube on. Or spotify.
Stop at a drive through and get yourself a tasty beverage.

Shop online. Put it in your cart. Just don’t buy it for a couple of days to stay on track but you still get the hit of dopamine from shopping.
If you’re home, go outside. Bundle everyone up and make an activity station so you can sit your happy butt down and read a book outside. If it’s summer water works wonderfully for kids to play in. if it’s winter you might have to throw them in the stroller and listen to a podcast while you walk.
Find something you enjoy doing that you can do with your kid(s). right now it’s summer and during the week I am mentally so drained by the time I get home.

Some nights after work we pack up and go swim about 20 minutes from the house. It’s free (except for gas) I absolutely love it, it’s easy to grab the kid and dog both, and it tires out everyone which makes bedtime easier.
When I have more energy I go biking at a trail near my house with my kid and dog.
Get your finances in order. There is no way we can mentally relax as moms unless we have our finances in order I think. I am currently working on building up my emergency fund to 6 months.
On that note, taking care of things that niggle in the back of my mind is a constant struggle. We have a million things going on but if I can knock things out as quickly as I can it keeps the noise and anxiety down.
I just called and scheduled a maintenance for my vehicle and checked on an appointment for my kid. Immediately feel better.
If you work , take a vacation day. And do something for yourself. Tell 0 people or as few people as possible. If you stay at home next time your partner is home, tell them you're leaving. Don't ask. Go for a walk at a park near you alone. Or down a quiet road. Or go get you a small treat and read a book in a parking lot. Personally I go ride my horse but I have done all of these.
these are my top tips for myself personally.
Godspeed fellow parents.
