Is the grass greener or am I dramatic? I'm a work outside the home mom.
Lately I’ve been struggling with the grass is greener. I see my journey as so painfully slow to where I want to be but I know I am so blessed with all that I have. I am fantasizing about staying home with my kid and running the farm and/or some sort of business with kiddo tagging along.
I just want to say THIS IS NOT A BRAG. This is how bills get paid and food is on the table for my family!
Here is my list of all the benefits of being a working out of home mom:
1. I make steady money. I can budget knowing I have the same paycheck every 2 weeks
2. I have 2 hours a day to listen to music/podcasts because I commute 1 hour each way to work

3. I have a gym to go to at work on lunch
4. Speaking of that, I get a lunch break. Or I can take breaks throughout the day

5. Health insurance is paid through my job which is very expensive in open market
6. I don’t get touched out. Common things I hear with stay at home moms is they are touched out. My kiddo loves to be near me, have me hold him, and even go to the bathroom with me lol. At work, I don’t have this.
7. I am completing tasks. At home tasks are a lot of never ending like picking up messes, laundry , etc. All of which are never done. At work I can cross items off and complete them.
8. I am not spending money while at work. Being with kiddos is all consuming so it’s not like you have time to spend money while being caretaker. BUT in taking care of them sometimes it’s like oh we should get out of the house to target or the park. The temptation to get a little treat is harder to resist than if I’m just at my desk all day.

9. I’m forced to get dressed every day. I mean most days I look like a racoon but I put on an actual shirt and bra. If I’m at home I’m wearing my sleep bra too long and going way too many days without brushing my hair.
10. My sleep schedule is fairly consistent. I have to be at work at a certain time which keeps me from staying up later at night justifying alone time to read /watch stuff.
11. I drink more water. Bored? Take a sip. When I’m at home I am so busy I don’t make time to drink. I only have 1 kid but wow especially during the summer when we are outside I don’t drink nearly what I do at work.
Ok there I have it. I’m going to re read these all the time.
