Friday I took off work. Random days off for me are vital to the on going amount of the daily cog of life/work. I got to take the morning off to town with my sidekick riding along before coming home at lunch time to deep clean the house.

stopped at the park
Saturday I continued cleaning until the house was cleaner than I think the entire time we have lived there since both my family and the SO's family came over for a little birthday celebration for kiddo. honestly an underrated best thing is inviting people over so your house feels so clean after all of that.
Sunday I had a lesson and it was phenomenal. something about being under the watchful eye of a trainer who gives live feedback faster than I can adjust makes the ride feel like I'm a dressage queen (definitely not when I see videos LOL)
My trainer has given me the goal of early next summer we are headed to our first eventing competition! And by competition I mean a dressage/show jumping event ! I am so excited to have this to look forward to. I've been hauling murphy out so frequently this year we have really calmed our nerves and we are ready to move to the next goal . (while also still enjoying trailering to lessons and now trail rides!)
In between all of this, the SO mowed this weekend, got more PEX pipe ran so it is easy to fill the water troughs in all the fields, and meat smoked for the week of meal prep. I completed the deep cleaning, drove the fence lines and got a game plan for fixing them and took the trash out, plus the normal horse care. Things on the farm always take 1 million times longer than I think they should take.
how i like my water troughs to look. they are changed out 1x or more a week
my fence helper ready to screw in some rope holders for me
However again this weekend was so peaceful on the farm and perfect beginning of fall weather. I love staying home on the farm.
Happy Monday everyone.
