Best advice for a mom that feels blah.

 GRANTED, there are seasons. If you are still in the trenches and feeling mentally and physically spent, then no don’t do this. It’s a season and I promise you will incrementally make it out. The first year I had my kid I pumped on my way to and from work, with a long commute and broken /little sleep every night. This was my trenches.

Granted, I still don’t get enough sleep but each year in motherhood I just kept getting more and more capable and stronger (also I am 100 percent sleeping more than that rough first season)

So if you’re a new mom or a mom that’s let go of your shine my best piece of advice is to get yourself into a gym or set up a home gym /convince a friend to set up a home gym and start working out together.


Working out alone works for some people but I’m fully convinced it’s way more fun with someone else and it has better accountability.

The most fun period of my life and my sisters life was when we lived together and would wake up super early and go do a crossfit workout together. It was even more fun because a lot of our friends went too! We are going to re-create in a better way now!! It was SO much fun to workout with loud music bumping and, feel strong in our bodies and honestly feel hot.


I would come home and have long walks with my dog and take horseback riding lessons.


These days, everything is better AND harder. I have a better job, better confidence, horses right outside my front door, etc etc, but I feel like an old cow with no pep in my step like the young calves.


My sister and her husband are finishing up a section of their barn as a gym so I will come over there and we will workout together! Sometimes our kids will be there too! The music will be more like worship music that’s bumping and sometimes we may have to set our weights down to catch a kid but that’s part of it! I’m so excited for this year to see how strong and fit we get and for our kids to see their moms working out.


I believe if you are fit everything in your life is better. At least this is the way it is for me

 

Also the fact that the weather will be short sleeves weather during Christmas is pretty cool! I’m definitely going to get in some good outdoor time, probably ride Murphy and then either go on a fun hike or bike ride with my kid!


I am so excited to watch my kids face as he opens his presents, it’s literally insane to me how much  more excited I am for this than to get any gifts.

Merry Christmas you filthy animals. It’s only a couple days until Christmas. I only work a couple days this week and then I’m off the rest of the week.
