my cold winter heart

Every fall I think I am going to do it this year I will power through winter without feeling like a bag of hot garbage.

And then February hits. This weekend we had 2 solid days of rain . As in roads are closed and there’s flooding everywhere. On Sunday it switched over to snow.

I’m changing blankets constantly it feels like. Buckling buckles with frozen cold fingers to make sure no one sweats or shivers. Then draping them everywhere to make sure they’re dry for the next time I need them.

I haven’t ridden in weeks and so the ponies are just feral right now. I’m also pale as a ghost and feeling like an ugly stepsister.

The lack of sun really kills me. I can only summon up energy to do essential items lately and sometimes even that is lacking. The dishes have been sitting in the sink for 2 days now. And running around on the ground with my kiddo is even exhausting.

We are gearing up for another snow accumulation Tuesday and /or Wednesday. We are supposed to leave for our florida trip on Thursday. TBD on if we will switch around a few days or not.

I am excited to recharge with the florida sunshine

I did go to a girls night this weekend which was super great. It makes a mama’s heart sing when she (ok me) gets to talk to other fun and encouraging women while at the same time your kid gets to have a blast too!
