Tired of summer heat + updates
Last week I was off work and Rob took off too to get projects done around the house. You would think the first week of September would be cooler but NO it was a heat advisory most days.
We tore up pallets, started the chicken coop, bushhogged and Rob fixed the driveway making it nice and fluffy and level again. (torrential downpours and gravel)
Horse wise I did get some very nice rides in ! I had the farrier come out which lightened my pocketbook almost 300 bucks.

Carolina got front shoes on here because her soles are THIN and she is so ouchy. However she is still ouchy! I am not even going to ride her. So I’ve packed her feet hoping to help and going to start slathering on some hardener to her soles especially with how dry everything is.

The good news is my saddler fitter came out and adjusted my saddle and it’s a miracle but…. It perfectly fits Carolina as well!! Honestly if you’re into horses you know that is RARE!! Add on about 150 bucks here.

I did get her traced so we can buy a western saddle for rob. If I can get her feet hardened up we are going to take her to a hunter pace (Well if I can force him into going ). I’d love to get Murphy out and get some jumps in and getting Carolina out to see how she is as I really don’t have any history on her.

So my pocketbook was considerably lightened along with getting the vet bill for the horses annual exam/shots/medicines of over 600 bucks. Ouch. But these things are essential for keeping my horses sound and feeling good and in the long run a good fitting saddle and good farrier work will SAVE so much money.
Murphy has been incredible lately the canter lesson with my trainer really helped so much so now it’s just getting more saddle time.

It’s back to work this week for me and this morning there was a slight chill to the air . I am SO READY for fall.
Happy hump day Wednesday everyone
