Spring on the horse farm homestead

Horse news:
A couple more rides in on Murphy. He acted really cold backed when I got on a couple days ago which makes me suspect we need to do another saddle fit check. Ugh.

Or it could be he is just really herd bound since I rode him away from his buddies. The delicate balance of riding horses is insane. I’m going to book a saddle fitter to come out though and give a look. I am very nervous about this ($$$ if I need a new saddle UGH). Saddle shopping is the worst. I am going to coordinate a day with my friend down the road to split a trip fee. Horse friends are gems!
In other farm news, I still need to get dirt so I can plant my strawberries and the rest of my garden.
Warm weather weekends are hopping.

This weekend I need to mow, get dirt, plant the gardens, order groceries, go to a bachelorette party , and on Sunday we are going to go get 2 “mini” highland cows. Somehow the SO has convinced me to agree to this. A mom and her baby.
This could either be a really cool thing for our homestead to start making money with or another bad decision like when I got goats. But the SO really wants some pet cows and he needs some joy in his life so I am hoping this provides that.

Hope everyone is enjoying their spring and getting sunshine in their soul.
Peace
-A
