Stupid

The horses had their spring vet appointment late last week. Everyone got all their shots and teeth checked and Murphy got his sheath cleaned. All good reports.

However I was stupid. My vet was showing me how to check their teeth. And I’ve put my hands in horses mouth tons over the years for putting bits in and off without wanting to bump their teeth.  I do the myofascial release on Murphy whenever his body is tense so when my vet was describing how to check their teeth I was like oh ok I’ll just shove my finger in there and check.

Didn’t really think about how to do that without getting chomped down on like a baby carrot which I did.

Thankfully we were finished with the vet appointment and I paid my bill which is ouch but honestly super fairly priced it’s still just expensive.

I went and got my finger cleaned and got some antibiotics. It is fractured at the end but I’m pretty please with how quickly it’s healing. Really just makes it super hard to try and to my normal stuff—put up my hair, feed the horses, type etc. The throbbing has went down but I have random sharp shooting pains.

In other news, I am in the market for some outdoor solar lights with a switch I can use to ride before the sun comes up. If anyone has any suggestions send them my way. Pro to something that is budget friendly.

My farrier came yesterday evening to put murphys shoe back on that he pulled and touched up all his feet to hold him until his reset. Feels so good to get all my spring maintenance checklist knocked out! Only thing left is trailer tires and maybe some bodywork for murph.

I need things to look forward to so I’m thinking about all the riding I will get to do and rolex is coming up in exactly one month. My favorite event of the year I am extremely excited for this.
