We got the side of the barn fixed. My SO had to knock out the old side, re-frame it when I helped put the metal on the outside to match the rest of the barn better.

I have plans to add some landscaping like this on the outside to improve the aesthetics after we get everything cleared out of here but it already looks a ton better.
We both took a day of vacation and after I loaded an entire scrap load onto the trailer (old farm stuff some of it was from previous owners and lots of it was from us improving the barn area/demo of old chicken coop). Of course we took a day off when summer HIT. There was a heat warning out but alas we don’t have time to waste. I drenched through at least 3 outfits.

Unloading at the dump was much faster and we headed back home to do a couple more hours of work.
The horses were completely drenched in sweat so after dinner I hosed everyone off for a quick refreshing bath. And made sure to add more loose salt for the horses to lick.
We made a trip this weekend to get some really nice round bales of hay and those are put up now!
The 1st horse shelter we put up is also leveled up with more dirt to keep any water from pooling in there out for this winter.
In other news, we had 2 hipcampers last night! It’s not a ton of money but it is still picking up steam and we are getting more good reviews—I’m excited to see where this will take us in a couple of years as we keep making improvements and adding some more spots.
Last night the SO took another vacation day so he changed the front tire on the “new” tractor he bought. (marketplace $2k find!). He also got a couple rolls of roofing up on the new shelter and I helped.

One thing I've noticed about having the horses at home is they don't like the 3 sided shelter very much. this shelter will keep their hay nice and fresh and keep them dryer as well. I'm hoping they use this way more than the other shelter they hardly use at all.
All in all, things are looking up on the farm! Our plans are taking shape slowly and painfully but definite progress.
