Hookworms, Cat Poop, and Car Vomit — A Saturday to Remember

There’s only 1 vet that you don’t need an appointment for. My normal vet is appointment only and honestly I couldn’t mentally add the calling and scheduling of a vet appointment along with the stress of if our cat would even be around when I needed to catch him.

(both our new puppy and our adult cat needed a vet appointment). Puppy for a parvo and rabies shot + he had diarrhea, cat had swollen and gunky eye.

our orange cat Scruffy is the one that needed the vet for his eye. his little sidekick is still pretty feral but she is getting braver . I'll need to get her fixed before too long as soon as I can catch her

Cue me deciding to just go to our walk in vet 25 minutes away Saturday morning. Saturday I woke directly  up with my toddler and we let the dogs out , fed the cats and loaded up.

On the way to the vet the cat pooped a massive pile in his carrier and it smelled ATROCIOUS. I kept thinking it was Waylon our puppy who was having gas because he is not thrilled to travel in a vehicle.

We waited almost 2 hours in the vets office and Waylon was nervous so I had to carry him everywhere we  needed to go – the bathroom so my toddler can go. Along with carrying the dog I also had a stinky carrier to carry with a heavy cat . LOL. Farm mom stuff.

Oh and also since I carried so much in the vet I didn’t take in any toys for my kid so he really was a trooper waiting in there with me.

Puppy had a high load of hookworms so we got him wormed and our cat Scruffy got an antibiotic shot and some eye drops sent home.

Since we were at the vets office so stinking long I decided to pick up breakfast in a drive through on the way home.

Poor Waylon was about 10 minutes from home when he started wretching. Immediately I pulled over and ran around to grab him out but too late. Vomit all over my truck.

I spent about 2 hours detailing out my truck and by the way the SO  had this little shop vac and it is fantastic. It’s so good I am going to get my mom one!

The reward for this experience was a over 300 dollar vet bill. LOL. It does feel good to get the animals taken care of so that's a weight of worry off!

Anyways, it’s Monday so I’m planning a lunch workout because I am dragging and really not wanting to be at work today.
